CSUB Volleyball Excellence Fund

Under head coach Giovana Melo’s leadership, Bakersfield volleyball has been competitive in the classroom and at the net. As they continue to compete in the Big West for their third season, our volleyball student-athletes need you more than ever. Your investment in the program will allow Melo and her coaching staff to meet their funding priorities and develop the best student-athletes possible. 

Funding Priorities

1. Enhance Operating Budget:  An increased operating budget will allow the staff to prioritize recruiting travel throughout the entire year. With the increase, the coaching staff will expand their footprint across the country and recruit high-level student-athletes. 

2. Scholarships: Increasing scholarship money will allow us to recruit high caliber student-athlete across the country. With an increase in scholarships, our student-athletes will also be able to go to summer school and train in Bakersfield. 

3. Hiring and Retaining Coaches: The NCAA has instituted a new rule, allowing for a third assistant coach. Hiring a third assistant would allow our program to have another dedicated staff member for our student-athletes!
